Why Now After All This Time?

For some time there has been a great deal of thoughts troubling my mind. Besides the normal everyday problems, there has been one major problem that has been of great concern to me. It is that over the course of this year, many events have played out in this country that makes me question what is really going on anymore. I have trouble believing the government just as much as I have trouble believing a majority of the media.

At the beginning of the previous year I felt a great amount of hesitancy, unsure of all the matters that would arise because of the new administration. As the year went by, more and more actions have taken place which has made me realize this country is not the country it once was. Bills are being passed in shorter amounts of time with little to no information being shared about it not to mention that discussion on the topic has been minimal. Instead of the media informing the public of the government actions, they are defending their every move. Also those that we call public leaders are verbally attacking its own people, accusing them of being unpatriotic. I find this insulating not just as an American, but as a human being. I’m being lied to, I’m forced to endure the consequences of their actions, which could even be considered unjust or unconstitutional, and according to the government I’m being un-American just because I don’t agree with them 100%. I find this all just disheartening.

Despite all of this I still have hope in the people of this great nation. I still appreciate and love the ideals that have allowed this country to grow into so much more then what it was in the beginning. I’m thankful that I can live in a country where everyone has a voice. I just hope that it can still remain that way.

That is why I have decided now is the time. I need to do something, whether or not it makes any difference. For either way I have to make an effort to share & to keep alive not only what I believe, but what others believe as well. God Bless You & God Bless America.
